The Shape of a Girl

After a violent bullying incident results in a murder, Braidie’s world is changed. With an absent brother, she must confront her past and who she has become. Braidie ponders if her and her friends are any different than the teen accused. Is Braidie brave enough to stand up to her friends’ when their bullying of a classmate takes a turn for the worst? Inspired by the murder of Reena Virk in 1997.

The Shape of a Girl was originally produced by Alberta Theatre Projects (Calgary), a co-production with Green Thumb (Vancouver), as part of the PanCanadian Playrites
