A DIY micro-poem musical about a second-gen Burundian queer who, through constant questioning of their belonging, decides to choose their own pleasure in everything until it catches up to them. Then, they learn to balance it with the rhythm of their heart, and some drumming too… will this make it all worth it?
The combination of song, percussion and dance helped create an incredibly moving story that I’m still thinking about well after the show. One of my favourite shows from last year (The Death of a Swan) also featured this versatile performer, and seeing them again was a pleasant surprise. I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for future fringes!
