Come along with Fingers and Shrimp, the last rats in Alberta, and learn how they survive in a world that hates them. Fingers, the street rat, is completely alone. Or so he thinks, until he discovers Shrimp, an escaped lab rat. Inspired by Alberta’s 1950s anti-rat propaganda, this physical comedy duo will have you clutching your tail!

  1. A must see!
These rats talk. It’s something we don’t have in Ottawa. Their comedic timing is well paired. Entire sketch is entertaining, fast, heart warming and thought out.
It was fun for us and for them.

  2. This show shattered my expectations, split my sides, and blew my mind. The rats are so quick witted.

  3. Rat Academy was incredible! Hilarious, heartwarming, and each performance is distinctly unique. Not a single dull moment. The physicality and comedic timing always at 110%. Everyone I’ve talked to about it already wants to see it again!

  4. Rat academy was incredible last night! This show has you laughing the whole way through, except for the moments you’re tearing up. Endlessly funny and a lot of heart, this show is a MUST watch for any fringe-goers!

    Mommy loves you 🫶

  5. Rat Academy – absolutely hilarious. This two-person show absolutely takes the cake, or in this case, the cheese, right off the plate! Funny, charming, everything you would want in a comedy! My favorite part of this show was the set design. It was very unique and interesting, every part of the set was a crucial part of the show, and the show couldn’t function without the amazing set.

  6. This is my absolute Must-See for Fringe this year!! Exceptional clown and exceptional physical comedy. The characters are well-rounded, fully developed and I was seriously impressed that they were able to maintain those character voices the entire time without slipping!! The story is really sweet, and really funny. I usually don’t enjoy audience participation, but it was so well done and the person who was selected to move the rat trap I remembered and have seen throughout the festival after and it helped them make new friends! So cool. I particularly love the costumes and makeup. This show has a high degree of polish in acting, story, and set. Strongly recommend!!

  7. I laughed so much, my face hurt after this show. Truly next level comedy, a must-see!
