Absolutely loved this show, heartwarming, funny and so real ❤️
10 out of 10. This show is so good! An ode to all queer lives lived and unlived.
The conflicts felt so real, and I especially liked the open-ended ending.
With a healthy dose of humour and heart, Disarranged Marriage illuminates the friction that exists for two young Chinese people who, despite being at odds, both grapple with the same residual cultural norms that suppress their identities and force them together. This ensemble is dynamic and rife with chemistry, making each combination of these very colourful characters a sight to behold. The show is well staged, with practical yet creative lighting design and memorable dialogue that ranges from poignant to playful. Do not miss this show!
It’s so nice to see such an ambitious show at Fringe – a huge set, multiple actors, costume changes, the works. I found it charming and sincere as we follow two young (ish) people trying to navigate generational differences and cultural expectations. Overall I’m really happen I attended, and if it’s your type of show you probably want to catch this one too
Great job by everyone!
Great job by everyone – interesting and made to think.
A very real representation of the queer experience of many, managing to communicate the complex emotions involved in just an hour! The cast did such a great job, and the composition of multiple set pieces was impressive! Go support your local (queer) arts, you can’t regret that!
