a co-presentation with Alliance Française Ottawa

A solo performance that tells the story of a mother’s fight to protect her child at all costs. Set between home and school, the play links the personal with the political. A slice of life narrated and performed by the playwright herself, who plays some twenty characters to deliver a tumultuous and dizzying tale that oscillates between play, slam poetry, and Ted Talk-style social commentary. A true, David-and-Goliath-esque story that lifts the veil on the insidious nature of systemic anti-Black racism in schools. Ça rime avec vinaigre is based on the real-life experiences of this boy and his loved ones to highlight the systemic inequalities that persist in our society. This is a French production presented with English captions.
