In a rural farmhouse, the dysfunctional Cain family is rocked when eldest brother Andrew reappears after a week-long disappearance from which he should have never returned. He is genial, kind, and harmless — and his siblings are terrified. As tension rises, this gothic horror exposes the rot underneath a patriarchal family.
Fun and unsettling show with good moments of suspense and brevity, and a surprising ending. Gave vibes of There Will Be Blood with surreal horror elements, much enjoyed!
This is drama. Genuine actors, well played, characters well defined and paced, action easy to follow. Beautiful in many ways like in every dysfunctional family.
A MUST SEE show!!! What an original, captivating, horrifying tale. I recommend to all. All of the cast were outstanding, never did it feel like the show was an hour long.
My jaw was on the FLOOR. This is a masterclass in tension. Well worth a watch, maybe even two.
Multiple times during Aberration I heard the audience around me holding their collective breath. I really can’t blame them, so was I. Pitch perfect staging, acting and production design all come together to create something horrifying in the truest possible way. Lockpick’s best work to date.
Full on recommended, 10/10 cast and show. The script and actors are great. Love a mini horror that doesn’t overstay it’s welcome and has good plot twists. The tone was set perfectly at the top of the play as well.
This is the show to see this year. Great acting, intriguing plot, and what an ending. Don’t miss this show that is sure to have people talking about it. Great job Lockpick!!
An absolute master class in horror theatre!! The writing was so deliciously unsettling and twister. The staging and lighting made the whole setting feel so isolating and claustrophobic. The chemistry and dynamics between all the actors were so well flushed out. The tension was so palpable I was literally biting my nails. The sound design , incredibly grotesque. This is a definite Fringe must see!!
