First Weekend of Fringe
Finally, those pesky jobs won’t get in the way of your Fringing. It was evident last night that no one had to get up for work today, as crowds were big across the festival.‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore sold out their BYOV for their first performance, and there was a great big crowd (including myself) at Lonely Bear. There was also great buzz last night around Fallen: The Book of Samael and 100 First Kisses – get your tickets for all these shows in advance if you don’t want to be disappointed. My Fringe-sense tells me they may start selling out.
There’s plenty more on tonight (I’m hoping to see three more shows today), and in between shows why not stop by the Courtyard where it’s Prom Night. Get out your best tux and poofy dress and come on down to the Courtyard for a chaperoned slow dance. But unlike my prom, we can drink beer without fear of being kicked out.
Parents: don’t forget our Mini Fringers camps are today and next Saturday, from 1:30-5:00. Head on over to our For Parents page for all info. The camps are free if you have a Frequent Fringer pass. Drop the kids and go see something adult appropriate!
Now that we’re in full swing, the reviews keep coming out. Fully Fringed has published 31 reviews already (and probably more by the time you read this), with the Capital Critics Circle churning them out fast as well. Don’t forget about Team Visitorium. Their first reviews are just starting to come out…
Now that shows have started, you can vote for Fan Favourite. Please, one vote per person, per day. No ballot box stuffing. This isn’t Iran.
And as a bonus, here’s an Preview of Dirk Darrow: NCSSI, which opens tonight in Venue #4.
Head on over to our YouTube Channel for more previews.
Happy Saturday! What are you seeing tonight?
