undercurrents asks artists to deep dive and immerse viewers with their ebb and flow of experiences, fluid emotions and the streams that shape them. Through memory, dreams or reflection, artists share their vulnerability with us so that we may ponder the paths we have laid for ourselves.
Be it the playful confrontation of Martin Vuong, the internal conflict of Christ Reddie, the raw love letter of nilofer rauha, the sweet escapism of Maya Hum, the echoes of hardship of Tyler Nykilchyk, the stillness of Akochayé Briat, the ethereal atmosphere of Nasim Esmailpoormarzoonabadi, the surreal depictions of Scott Ferguson, the ephemerality of Kyla Mastersmith, the introspection of Justine Sénéchal, the vulnerable truths of Erin Szturm or the complexities of identity of Yomi Orimoloye, the artists in undercurrents submerge into the depths of their subconscious to explore what lives in the undercurrent.
