Grave robbing: the ultimate dead-end job. Silent comedy with the unquiet dead. Burke and Hare with a dash of Buster Keaton. You’ll be dying to find out what happens next.
* Work previously featured on BBC Radio 4 (“DMs are Open”, 2023), and at Undercurrents Festival (“New Play Tuesday: Grave Consequences”, 2022). * “The writers’ irreverent dad jokes combined with the cast’s great delivery of physical humour made this comedy incredibly upbeat and silly… a witty piece of theatre that is good for all ages!” – Apt613 on ‘Snap!’ (Ottawa Fringe, 2022).
BLEW. MY. MIND!!!!!!!
Never seen a silent comedy done this professionally. I felt like I was transported to a different time. As a comedian, I’ve seen a lot of silly stuff, but this was so unique and expertly done- sound design, light design, characterization, list. goes. on. HUGE ups to this cast, so good it pissed me off. 🪦💎💖
The graveyard shift is a show that doesn’t have that much talking, but, it is still a great show! They have alot of breaking the 4th wall in this show, and that makes the show even more funny!
It is very funny and it is very well acted!
While I’m not super familiar with Buster Keaton, or even Burke and Hare, I sure know my Mr Bean, and boy did this live up to the comedy in silent comedy.
Great use of clever set pieces, perfect timing, and outstanding acting all around. Couldn’t ask for more (though, if more is on the table…)
This was a FUN show. Glad I was able to catch this one, it was a good time.
What a well done enjoyable show. The audience didn’t stop laughing throughout. The show brings back fond memories of silent films and Buster Keaton like gags. Go see this show!!!!!
What a hoot of a play! The comedic timing was impeccable. The storyline CLEVER! The prop usage nothing short of expertly. Forgot it was a silent comedy until they started talking at curtain.
This show was very fun and entertaining, well executed by the cast. It transports you to a different time where the silent comedy was king. A fun change of pace from other shows.
So action- and impression-packed, completely understandable, but without lines – very well done!
Also, impeccable synchronization of gestures and sound FXs really adds to keeping the pace!
