5,218 people are living there, and this is the story of the men who caused all the trouble…
NY Drama Desk Award-nominated solo artist takes on the residents of Aberdeen, Mississippi.
Annoying heroine Viola Haygood is in love for the umpteenth time, but this time her tall, dark and handsome stranger is more than she bargained for. Young girls are disappearing from Big Otis’ Saloon, the FBI is in town, and doors are getting locked. It’s a Southern gothic novel of epic proportions, replete with a June bug allegory. What Show Business Weekly calls: “at least an HBO Special.”
“A standout. Flawlessly executed.” – New York Times.
What a fantastic show tonight. Great story, humour, and great acting by Frank Blocker who played many characters. The June bug was a wonderful extra touch. Loved that this start to the Fringe Festival was such a great performance.
Saw this show on opening night & loved it. Frank Blocker has a wonderful way of portraying many different characters using his voice and body language. His words transformed a bare stage into a steaming-hot Southern hick town. Highly recommend this show.
Absolutely incredible.
Much more humour than I expected up front but it hit every time.
Cannot recommend this enough.

What a great show! I laughed so much, what an enjoyable piece. I hope to see more from this actor/writer, a true talent!
There are no words to describe this so I’ll just squawk like an exalted parakeet. Amazing. 🤣
Do yourself a favour and run to see Frank Blocker in Southern Gothic. Brilliant play, pitch perfect portrayal of a host of characters. A tour de force solo performance. So hilarious I had to catch my breathbetween gales of laughter.
A true storyteller, portraying so many different characters
