Sammy is a stranger in a strange land. He is an American (clown) in Paris who somehow has landed a job at a fancy restaurant. But what if you are also – a clown?

Anyone who has travelled knows how challenging it can be to not understand the culture and language in which you find yourself.
An American (waiter) in Paris, Sammy must prepare “Le Grand Buffet” or be fired. He does his best to follow the list “à faire,” but his limited French combined with the Roger Federer, Minnesota Fats, high-wire walkers, Gene Kelly, magic and music in his clown heart get in the way. Can the audience keep Sammy from getting sacked? Forty-five happy accident-filled minutes later, “Le Grand Buffet” is served to two audience members. Sammy is inspired by Chaplin, Keaton, Calvin and Hobbes, 1947’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and Mirin’s own experiences living and working in French-speaking Switzerland.
“Best family theater in New York this fall… a comic solo show about an American waiter trying to keep his job in a Parisian restaurant.” – Mommy Poppins
“A charming show for children… as its clownish protagonist overcomes awkwardness… to make us smile… it’s refreshing to have a space where… self-expression can be free.” – Theater is Easy
