“Puppets are Politicians” was well worth the price of admission. This satirical play follows the plight of a bumblebee who is displaced, and without a home, as a direct result of corporate-based political decision-making (greed). The ire is mostly leveled at Ottawa municipal politicians. Projects like the LRT and Landsdowne 2.0 are notably called into question as being flawed and ill-conceived with no consideration given for the environment. Although mostly about municipal politicians, Donald Trump inserts himself into the mix with much hilarity. The masks of the various politicians are the creations of Velvet LeClair who is the mastermind behind “Puppets are Politicians”. This play is a tour de force!
