An autobiographical, solo show about a secular Jew/music nerd’s search for selfhood at French Catholic school, Jewish camp, family holidays and beyond.
Interwoven with violin playing, this poignant and funny story will captivate and delight.
I will ask the audience to yell “Mazel Tov” at the end of the show. This is optional, but will enhance the experience.
A transcript and extended content note are available for this show. This show will have a masked performance on June 16 at 4:30pm.
“Laura tells her story with honesty, humour, generosity, compassion, and courage, not to mention excellent storytelling skills and masterful musicianship.”
This show struck a chord with me. It is human, it is deep, it feels like any of us and in parts, all of us. The use of violin (which the actress plays on stage throughout the show) is beautiful. This show was like…listening to that one friend that makes you feel like part of the story. A few dozens of us in the audience got to hear this story, and I feel so lucky I was one of them.
Thank you, Sarah! 💞🎭🎻
Jewish-ish is a master class in balance, pacing and authenticity. The stories and music keep you leaning in from moment one. Cannot recommend enough!

I was moved and although I had different experiences you captured what bring a Jew is. I grew up in Sudbury in the 50s & there were less than 100 Jews. I loved your show and its brilliant themes. Thanks and מצל טוב

Very Entertaining Laura. Particularly enjoyed the vivid and humorous characterizations of the friends – both as a child and adult – you met along your life joirney. Clearly your talents extend beyond music now too!
Thank you, Chris! 💚🎻🎭
