John Wayne Gacy. Ted Bundy. Dennis Rader. Charles Manson. What do all of these people have in common? ART! … and also murder. But mostly art. Painting, poetry, music, and even plays.
Three powerhouse women combine humour with terror as they present works of art made by serial killers.
My show is about works of art by serial killers. These are their direct words, which often is them referencing their crimes.

Ahh, wanted to catch this at the Edmonton Fringe last year but it kept selling out! Gotta get my ticket early this time!
I lucked out and made it in for the first show of their run. With the second show almost fully sold out in advance and sold out runs in various other cities, get your tickets early. They maybe newcomers to Ottawa but they are more than experienced as artists.
I’ll admit that I went in with a rather gruesome curiosity but I wasn’t expecting to come out with a huge smile and sides sore from laughing. Yes the show focuses on various works of art (poetry, plays, songs etc)written by murders, but the script and selections for presentation create a charming and deeply humorous effect.
If you are expecting a slide show and lecture you couldn’t be more wrong. The actors radiate energy diving deep into both the characters of the murderers and their art. Definitely a contender for best evil laugh and a couple selections which will having you gagging when you learn the authors. The show is fast paced and tightly performed. The long run and professional quality of the actors makes this an extremely entertaining and well polished show, more than worth the effort of getting tickets.
A friend of mine was adamant that I see Cabaret of Murder, and I’m really glad they were! I laughed, laughed some more, and was surprised to find out that serial killers have made some really good art. And some really bad art. This amazing cast brought so much energy and fun that not even any of the killers’ terrible (both morally and artistically speaking) source material could keep them down, and I found myself absolutely engrossed in their lively performance all the way through. Their comedic timing was top notch, and I walked out of there a changed person, even if I don’t know exactly what that change is.
This was one of the most entertaining performances I’ve seen in Fringe this year. All 3 actors were top-tier talent.
