Featuring songs from Ella, Billie, Josephine, Aretha, Nina, Tina, Whitney, Beyonce and more!

Aspiring legendary vocalist Tymisha Harris spent decades performing as Aretha Franklin at Universal Studios and working as a Tina Turner impersonator and tribute artist. She has won dozens of awards for her portrayal of Josephine Baker in the off-Broadway and international hit show “Josephine”, and is a 2X winner of the Orlando Sentinel Critic’s Choice for “Leading Actress, Musical” (one for Josephine, the other for her embodiment of Billie Holiday in “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill”).
In this new, surprisingly personal cabaret, Tymisha talks about her personal journey and those of the legends who influenced her, while she sings some of the most impactful songs from throughout their and her career.

★★★★★ “A stunning display of song and history… as a standard bearer for almost an entire century of music, you really couldn’t do better than badass burlesque diva Tymisha Harris.” – Edmonton Journal

  1. A Cabaret of Legends, starring Tymisha Harris, singing songs and telling stories of black female singers. Super charming and fun. 100% recommended. Go see this. For $14 you can watch Billie Holiday sing Strange Fruit.

  2. Tymisha brings all the star power of these legendary and powerful black women to the Ottawa Fringe stage with incredible presence and her mesmerizing voice. I saw Josephine when Tush was here in 2018 and have been waiting for her to o come back to Ottawa with another of her productions, so I was being stoked when I saw this show listed for this year. Not only was I not at all disappointed, I was blown away. If you haven’t seen this show yet, get your tickets now (and if you’re have seen it, I am sure I will see you back for a second time too).

  3. FANTASTIC! Great performance combined with a great message. Tymisha described as “an act of protest through black excellence”. I attended the show with my 12 & 14 year older daughters and we all enjoyed it.

  4. As someone who lives outside NYC, we can attest this is a Broadway quality performance. Tymisha Mills was impressive as actress, knock-em-dead as singer, captivating as storyteller and quick as improviser for whatever unexpected happened. The production thoughtfully and progressively assembled, yes. But the real treat is her outstanding voice coupled with her energy, enthusiasm and passion. We 4 attending thought it a memorable class act.

  5. Truly a show not to be missed this year at Fringe!! Tymisha’s acting, singing, dancing, and stage presence are world class. I really enjoyed her energy and the power and tenderness with which she delivered the stories of these incredible black vocalists, and the way she intertwined it with her own story. I was absolutely brought to tears during “Times Are a Changin’”… So moving! When Josephine came in 2018 I saw the show three times and it is what began my love affair with Fringe Festival :)

  6. Yeah, she can sing. I mean really sing! Her Whitney Houston was stunning, and yeah, the Times they Are a Changin’ was done so well. She’s also a lighthearted and charming presence, she’s not afraid to have fun and share some laughs with the audience.

  7. Incredible performance, very strong singer really feels the music, impressive dancing, educational and beautiful costumes. Loved this performer since Josephine so glad she is back.

  8. Don’t walk, run to get tickets to this show! Her voice is amazing and I learned a lot. 10/10
