Vinay navigates his memory palace of absurd images (shown on screen) to recite 10,000 Digits of Pi throughout the festival. However, every time he makes a mistake, he must do a punishment decided by the audience!

The premise of the show is simple, Vinay recites digits of pi and every time he makes a mistakes he does a punishment decided by the audience!

Using an ancient memory palace technique with absurd images, Vinay will attempt to recite 10,000 Digits of Pi throughout the festival!

The show was received well in Edinburgh 2024 where it was shortlisted for the Malcolm Hardee Comic Originality Award and received 4-star reviews from The Scotsman and Binge Fringe!

Q: How will I know Vinay is saying the right digits?
A: The digits are displayed on a screen for the audience to follow along.

Q: What kind of punishments come up in the show? I don’t like to see people getting hurt.
A: The punishments are fun like Truth or Dare! Vinay will not get physically hurt but there are no limits on how much you can embarrass him!

Q: How does Vinay remember the digits?
A: He uses an ancient memory technique that maps digits to images and places them in a memory palace. The images are absurd and will also be shown on the screen for the audience to follow along.

Q: What is Pi?
A: Pi is the ratio between the circumference and the diameter of a circle. It’s an irrational number and in its decimal form it has infinitely many digits with no patterns.

Q: Does Vinay really know thousands of digits of pi?
A: Yes, he has spent hundreds of hours memorizing these numbers.

  1. This was very fun show! Impressive memory, earnest acceptance of what the audience wants, and so many hilarious unplanned moments! It was an extremely great Fringe show experience. This is definitely a show to see. The theatre could use a bit more electrical plugs :P

  2. As delightfully chaotic as pi. The show is about a man trying to accomplish his task, sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing. There is joy in both success and failure. It’s a very interactive show that invites the audience to participate.
    I have seen the show once and I’m planning on going for a second serving of pi.

  3. Super glad I was able to fit this one in my schedule! Who knew someone could make such an entertaining show about math. The punishments being written by the audience means you’re in for a different show every night!
