Kickoff!

Fringe is so close I can taste it (though that could just be sense memory from years of Fringe postering – the taste of packing tape  on your tongue never quite goes away).

If you’ve been around Arts Court and the University of Ottawa you’ve probably seen companies loading in, technicians running around, and out of town artists trying to find out where the hell Séraphin-Marion Street is. Yes, a sure sign that Fringe is just around the corner is that tech rehearsals have begun in all our official venues, as well as our nine (9!) BYOV’s.

And while festival shows may not begin until Thursday, we’re starting a day early with a Courtyard Kick-off Party on Wednesday, June 19 (that’s tomorrow!). Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the night will feature catering by this year’s Courtyard food vendor Stone Soup Foodworks, and performances by Ottawa-favourites The Peptides, as well as DJ Sweet Cheeks. Did I mention it’s free?
