Festival bolstered by Cameryn Moore
The bad news:
Ottawa audiences will be bummed to learn that, due to travel complications, Nishadhi Dance Troupe will no longer be performing at the 2013 Ottawa Fringe. With good fortune, we’ll have the opportunity to see Traditional Dances of Sri Lanka during a future edition of the Festival. Tickets purchased for their show can be exchanged or else refunded at the Festival box office (2 Daly Avenue, 613-232-6162).
The wonderful news:
Boston-bred and Montreal-based performer Cameryn Moore adds her show, slut (r)evolution, to the program. A phone sex operator by day (or by night?), Cameryn Moore is the creator of the award-winning solo play Phone Whore. Since her last Ottawa appearance at the 2010 Ottawa Fringe, the prolific Moore has created one new solo show every year. In 2013 she takes all four on the road with over 90 performances in 17 cities, including a month-long run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
On a need-to-know basis:
Since the box office opened at the beginning of June, Frequent Fringer passes have been flying (frequently. Get it?) Already the city’s most appealing deal, no Fringe show sells tickets for more than $10. Frequent Fringer passes, though, can get yourself (and friends) into five shows for $45 or ten shows for $75. There’s only a limited number of passes available. Get yours before opening night. Keep in touch via Twitter or Facebook for updates.
