Award-winning comedian Aliya Kanani is going through the same existential crisis you are — out loud.
Join her for an uproarious, heart-on-sleeve rollercoaster as she barrels into awkward confessions, spirals through self-discovery & zigzags with a delightful ADHD energy, sharing tales from studying meditation in India to accidentally joining a cult in Texas.
Think Julia Roberts on her Eat Pray Love journey, but she’s brown, funny and poor.
After winning multiple awards for her show ‘Where You FROM, From?’, including Best of Fest in Ottawa, Aliya is back with an uproarious, heart-on-sleeve adventure, with tales from studying meditation in India to (accidentally) joining a cult in Texas.
With her love of mischief and uplifting take on life’s challenges, Aliya barrels into awkward confessions, spirals through self-discovery & zigzags with a delightful ADHD energy, for an unforgettable night of cathartic laughter.

This was a breath of fresh air! Fun but deep show, I really enjoyed it.
Anyone who saw Where Are You From From? already knows that Aliya Kanani is an incredibly funny comedian; but this time around she pairs her humour with introspection as she takes the audience on a delightful jaunt through self discovery, human connection, and far too much ghee. A great fun show, perfect if you’re in need of a chuckle or a little boost to your faith in humanity.
Witty, charming and interesting look at our lives from her POV. Sometimes her pace is soft and gentle and others she’s energetic, fascinating and larger then life. She was pleased in having a full house and we rewarded her with a standing ovation.
Aliya, you have nooooo idea how much I needed to see this show. As it is said, people come into our lives, for a reason. The universe sent me to you, to see your show, tonight.
Raised in the 60’s and 70’s, I « bought the dream », similar to yours in the 70/80’s. I don’t believe it was a lie, and I don’t think you do either. You still believe !!!!!
With the sh*t going on down south, and literally the rest of the world, I had truly lost hope in humanity, and happiness.
But seeing your show tonight, restored hope in me, gave me gratitude that there are still good people with a desire to make things better, and totally, absolutely made me feel happy again.
Thank you soooo much for your performance tonight.
Namaste
