VOLUNTEER SUPERVISOR
The Volunteer Supervisor will support the 200+ volunteers who make the festival happen. The successful candidate for this position will be reliable, outgoing, and excited by the opportunity to work in the hub of Fringe.
Duration: June 1 – 24, 2018
Hours: approximately 40 – 60 hours, evening and weekend availability is required
Rate: $14/hr
Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Coordinating volunteer check-in
- Organizing daily volunteer hospitality
- Assisting with volunteer orientations
- Supervising on-site volunteers, assisting where required
The ideal candidate should have:
- Previous experience either as a volunteer or working with volunteers
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with Excel, Dropbox, Google Drive, Volgistics is an asset
- A passion for the arts and a familiarity with Fringe festivals is an asset
SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR
The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with the festival’s marketing and communication team, creating content for all our social media platforms, as well as our website. The successful candidate will be a motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
Duration: May 14 – June 29, 2018
Hours: 40 hours/week, evening and weekend availability required
Rate: $16/hr
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and creating content for all Ottawa Fringe social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and hashtags
- Developing posting schedule, in coordination with Marketing and Communication Officer
- Interacting with our follower network and responding to comments/messages, to encourage engagement
- Tracking metrics and engagement
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of and experience with various social media platforms
- High level writing and communication skills
- Photo/video editing and graphic design experience a plus
- Bilingualism is an asset
BOX OFFICE STAFF
Box Office Staff are highly motivated, enthusiastic and dependable individuals. Successful candidates for this position will be team players with some customer service experience who are looking for a fun and challenging opportunity to be part of Ottawa’s largest theatre festival.
Duration: June 4 – 24, 2018
Hours: approximately 40-60 hours, evening and weekend availability is required
Rate: $16/hr
Tasks and Responsibilities include:
- Selling festival tickets and passes in person and over the phone
- Providing festival and show information to patrons
- Providing information and assistance to volunteers and artists
- Assisting with the daily box office prep and closing procedures
The ideal candidate should have:
- Cash management experience
- The ability to work well independently as well as with a team
- Excellent communication skills; bilingualism is an asset
- Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
- Box Office experience is an asset
- Knowledge of a theatre environment, specifically the Fringe Festival is an asset
