A radical interpretation of Shakespeare’s spooky Macbeth, Foul Play is a homage to 80’s horror, crop tops and gory camp.
Fringe Review: Foul Play – Kevin Fenech, Apartment 613
Macbeth has been done to death (ha!), but Dead Unicorn Ink somehow makes it fun again(?) with an 80s slasher theme and an outright refusal to take itself too seriously.
There is an absolute commitment to the bit that makes it work beautifully. The hour flew by like a perfectly thrown football, they hit the perfect beats to satisfy horror film junkies and Shakespeare junkies alike, and they also clearly had fun doing it.
Loved every second.
What a delightful take on Macbeth. It was fun and easy to follow. If you like Shakespeare and modern, fun takes, this one is for you.
