Show Details

Thanks for looking up my show! The short elevator pitch is…Blind to Happiness is a one-person drama-comedy about a quirky dishwasher, his cat, positive psychology, some beer, and (perhaps) life’s most important question – is ‘happier’ a choice? The show is centered on three restaurant co-workers, each appearing to be happy to the other… but then we find out maybe they aren’t…

and then we find out how they might help each other out. Oh yeah, there may be some references to S Club 7 (if you don’t know who they are, unfortunately if you see the show you will ? ) I’m like you – or definitely like someone you know – I’ve had my ups and downs with mental health. I wanted to write a show that engaged the topic in a humorous, non-linear, zig-zagging, and heartfelt way. It never hits you over the head that it’s talking about it, but it is. I’ve performed this show over 120 times in 11 cities and usually after every show at least one person stays behind who wants to talk about their own experience, or how they have supported a close one. I cherish those moments and conversations. I feel now more than ever we need to talk about our emotions, our feelings, our struggles and also our dreams. My hope is that this show will get that conversation going for you, even just a little. I know there’s a lot of beautiful shows to see in the festival, I would love it if you choose to see mine!
