Simply put, A SIDE OF RICE is me, Nicholas Rice. If all goes well, I’ll turn 72 in October, and I wonder if this makes me the oldest artist in the Fringe…
I’ve spent the past 48 years roaming around Canada (and sometimes dipping down into the States) as an actor. I’ve worked on stage, in film, and on TV. My best-known film is LOOK WHO’S TALKING, in which you can see me as a toupée-wearing blind-date from hell, having dinner with Kirstie Alley while John Travolta baby-sits her son. As well as being an actor, I’m a nice Jewish lad from Winnipeg, a teacher, a writer, a martial artist (Karate, second-degree Black Belt), a cancer survivor, a lover, a friend, and a proud dad. RICE consists of some of the stories I’ve acquired throughout a busy life. Some of the stories are funny, some are sad — all are totally true.
Saw this at a 10:00 time slot and it was a lovely way to finish my day. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole 60 minutes of this story-telling show!
