How to Get Over a Guy in 723 Days (and Other Useful Things I Learned from Afghanistan, the Dildo Dory Grill, and PTSD)
Breaking up is hard to do. Breaking up after working in Afghanistan for four years and dealing with weird PTSD symptoms like crying whenever you hear Carly Rae Jepson’s “Call Me Maybe” is just waaaaay harder. Newbie improv/sketch student and performer Judy Reid tells her (mostly) funny story of packing up her motorcycle and heading to Newfoundland, coping with crying jags, freaking out on public transit, and paying good money for shitty under-eye concealer while trying to find her way back to normal… and maybe even discovering something better along the way. Turns out that panicking on stage = less freaking out in life.
Half the profits from this show will be donated to Ottawa’s Improv Embassy to create an “Intro to Improv” class for people dealing with PTSD and anxiety.
