WHAT LOTTERY?
The Fringe model is unique in that hundreds of artists apply, but zero are selected by any sort of jury or curator. Rather, an impartial lottery decides which theatre companies will perform in the Festival’s official venues.
For those to whom the lottery is unkind, or intend to perform a site-specific piece, Bring Your Own Venue (BYOV) applications will become available in the new year.
